A-Level Politics & Sociology Lecturer

Are you passionate about Politics and Sociology and keen to help learners understand the world around them?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our thriving Sixth Form provision, teaching learners to think critically, challenge perspectives and engage with some of the most important social and political issues facing society today. You'll play a key role in preparing students for university, employment and active participation in modern society.

What you'll do:

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across A-Level Politics, A-Level Sociology and GCSE Sociology
• Support learners to achieve excellent academic outcomes and progress to university or their chosen destination
• Create engaging and thought-provoking learning experiences that develop critical thinking, analysis and debate skills
• Monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement, providing effective feedback and support
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities within the Sixth Faculty
• Deliver Personal Development Tutorials and support learners' academic, personal and pastoral development
• Develop learning resources and enrichment activities that enhance the learner experience
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for students

What we're looking for:

• A degree in Politics, Sociology or a closely related subject
• A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• Strong subject knowledge across Politics and/or Sociology
• Experience teaching, training or mentoring learners in an educational or workplace setting
• Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners to achieve their full potential
• A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
